25 Days Of Christmas~Christmas Magnetic Fun!

Hahahahaha! Bet you thought I wasn't gonna post today!

But, here I am.......I was just really busy today getting ready for Crafter's Club tonight!

We had a great time and I'll post the craft tomorrow.

But tonight I wanted to show an easy way to display ALL those beautiful Christmas cards that will be pouring in soon!

I made this 2 (maybe 3) years ago, but who can remember these things.

I got long metal pieces at Home Depot (make sure you get the heavy metal one, not the light aluminum......magnets don't stick to alum).

Mine are 36 1/2"x 3/4". you can go bigger, but be careful, there things are HEAVY!

Now, cut strips of your favorite paper and decoupage them onto each piece and then one or 2 more light layers on top to seal it all.

Now......

Just hang it up with 3M Command picture hanging strips and they will hang on tightly and come off cleanly afterwards.

I know it looks ugly, but you need to leave the little tabs hanging out so you remove them later. Don't worry, you can easily hide those with the 1st 4 cards you get :)

Also, whip up a batch of festive magnets, like these ones here, but using Christmas paper.

So easy.....and purdy too!

Have fun!

I linked up too!

  2. Lovely. Great thinking to do this for cards. And I love the idea of covering it with pretty paper!

I've got a tutorial for a bigger and more permanent version for kids' artwork.
