So,........
I LOVE magnet boards!!
Well, ANYTHING magnetic :)
They're soooooo fun.
Anyhoo, this is something I made to go in my Then I made some cute glass pebble magnets to hang pics with.
So, I just went and got a 12"x 24" frame and spray painted it white (since it's soooooooo hard to find cute white frames).
Then, I got 3 8"x 12" metal roofing shingles from good 'ol Home Depot and glued them into the frame. Be sure to use E6000, it's the best! I also glued a thin piece of plywood to the back of the metal shingles for stability.
Then, voila!! Great magnetic fun for all!!
Stay tuned.......I have more magnet boards in store. Told you I'm addicted :)

this is neat! and how simple. I never would have thought of going to Home Depot and buying the metal roofing shingles. derr I would have went and bought the expensive magnetic paint lol.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Don't you love E6000?! Check out my post from last night on the DENIM MAKEOVER. I had to do a pair of jeans with this glue because my machine broke doing my first pair! Thanks for the clue on the metal shingle...I would've never thought about that!
ReplyDeleteLove this magnet board! How cute. I agree E6000 is the best! I have those tins to from IKEA and love them.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! Roofing shingles!! I bought this metal from Home Depto that came in a roll. It worked well...but was a pain to flatten out!! Thx for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI love these canisters from Ikea. I have one set and am heading there on Sunday to get a couple more. I use them in the kitchen for spices, in my art room for small items and in my office for supplies.

This is ingenious! And, it has been on my to-do list for quite a while. I just saw it again on your guest post at Somewhat Simple and get more motivated to get one done!
ReplyDeleteA note--I asked for metal roofing shingles at Lowe's and was told that they don't carry them anymore. Not trusting that, I perused the roofing section and they weren't there, but I found metal flashing which is perfect for this project. I think it was priced at a whopping 34 cents each!
Thanks for your great ideas!
how much are the metal shingles
