Sorry I've been so lame about adding new posts, but I my migraines have gotten worse again lately....so we're back to getting a migraine EVERY DAY! I feel like the people on the migraine comercials who are ripping their heads off, except they only have it for 30 seconds whereas, mine go on for a millenia....and longer. I feel bad for my sweet girls, who are so understanding and patient with me as I lie on the couch with a dozen pillows over my head to keep out the light, sound, smell, and any other sensory stimulant that may send me into a downward spiral of throbbing pain. Too bad I've just about exhausted my options for a cure. Somedays I wish that my MRI had shown something....just so I could have a REASON for all this great character building I've been going through. Oh well, guess there's always tomorrow :) Have fun!

So sorry, Emily! Wish I lived closer and I could come over and help out with the kids and bring you some lunch. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you need anything! I'm happy to take the girls off your hands if ever you need a break! Remember...not only am I one of your most favorite people in the world, but I'm your Visiting Teacher! That means I'm supposed to help! Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHey! I am new to your blog! Being a fellow migrain suffer-er, I just wanted to tell you, I met a lady who had severe migraines, she said her doctor suggested botox, she had a few injections in her forehead and in her scalp and now her migraines are very few and far between! Anyway, I love your B blocks, but I am curious as to where you order your transfer tape from? I've ordered from a few different people, but all of the tape is a milky color, and I like the clear a LOT better!! Thanks! jessie(dot)ann(dot)gray(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog today but am very quickly working my way through your past blogs & just came across this one. I to suffer from migraines & used to have to be on prescription meds. One med cost me $15.00 a pill & knocked me out!!! I have seriously discovered an easier & cheaper way to get rid of my migraines. First step was to go to the chiropractor. They showed me which muscle was my "headache" muscle. (I went to a chiropractor that uses a popper thing, not one that just uses their hands & pulls you in all different directions). Anytime I get the "stars" I immediatly take 2 advil liquid gels & get a fountain pepsi & a bag of cool ranch doritos or lays (something really salty). If my headache still gets bad I lay on the ground & stretch my body to get that headache muscle to pop back into place. I haven't been on prescription meds in over 2 years. Sounds crazy, but it works for me,lol.

I just found your blog as well. I suffer from these, as well. My trigger seems to be hormonal (TOM). I have found over the years it is helpful to recognize the migraine as early as possible. Not always is this actually possible, but my first signal that one is on it's way is often ear pain. I also do as Nicki suggested, Excedrin Migraine meds and a big caffeinated soda. Ice packs on your throbbing spot above the eye helps dull the pain while the OTC meds are kicking in. This sometimes helps enough that I don't throw up. Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteI have been a migraine sufferer for probably 40-45 years and used to either have to get a shot or take a prescription. One day I saw a bottle of Excedrin for Migraines and bought a bottle. I haven't had to take a prescription pill for probably 6 years. As soon as I feel a headache beginning, I take two of them. They don't knock me out and I can keep going and not even have to lay down in the dark and dare anyone to even touch the bed. One thing I have noticed though since I have gotten older (66 years old) is that I get a lot of bruises very easily. The bruises are like the ones if you take aspirin for your heart like the doctors suggest. I don't take the aspirin now since I guess there is some in the pills. Hope this helps someone else.
